Dr. Jeffrey Weinzweig is board certified plastic surgeon and is considered one of the foremost international experts in plastic surgery. He is one of the most prolific authors and researchers in the field with 5 textbooks and more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and chapters to his credit. His book, Plastic Surgery Secrets, is one of the most widely read books in the field of plastic surgery and has been translated into numerous languages.

Dr. Weinzweig has trained at multiple Ivy League institutions and the top schools in the world. He received his undergraduate training from Columbia University, his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and his residency training in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery from the University of Chicago and Brown University, respectively. He is also double fellowship trained with training in craniofacial surgery, from the University of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and hand & wrist surgery, from the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Weinzweig is an award winning leader in the field of plastic surgery. In his former roles as Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Director of the Plastic Surgery Residency Program, and Director of the Institute of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at the Lahey Clinic near Boston, he has achieved numerous accomplishments, including expanding the department's scope of practice, earning reaccreditation of the residency program, and developing a nationally-recognized research program. Prior to his chairmanship, he was on the faculty at Brown University.

Dr. Weinzweig is uniquely qualified to treat all types of craniofacial anomalies affecting both adults and children. His commitment to achieving outstanding results extends to his special interests in reconstruction of the face and body, and aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery where cosmetic surgery patients benefit from his advanced training and expertise.

An inventor and philanthropist, Dr. Weinzweig is the founder and executive director of Komedyplast, a non-profit international organization that treats children with complex craniofacial anomalies. He is the inventor of a software program that predicts the outcome of soft tissue movement of the face based on movement of the underlying facial skeleton, and has invented a novel plating system for the skull that is currently being submitted to the FDA for approval.

Dr. Weinzweig combines the application of art and science to the refinement of surgical approaches as he strives to achieve the best possible result for each of his patients. With exceptional training and the ability to readily connect with his patients, closely incorporating them into every decision throughout their course, he is grateful to be able to transform their lives in a very tangible way. Dr. Weinzweig established JW Plastic Surgery to provide a tailored approach for each patient, guiding, educating, and reassuring them as each strives to reach a decision that is an extremely personal one. An extremely important one. More important than his academic reputation and fame as a plastic surgeon, he is a dedicated, compassionate, and committed physician to thousands of patients whose surgical journeys have begun at 2 days of life, 95 years of age, or somewhere in between. He has earned the respect and admiration of those whom he considers himself privileged and fortunate to have the opportunity to treat. Whether Dr. Weinzweig performs your surgery, guides you toward non-operative solutions to your concerns, or simply answers your questions, you and he will share in the reward of knowing that you have made the right choice – for you.

Dr. Weinzweig's expertise, accomplishments, and international reputation as a leading plastic surgeon are why the most selective patients are choosing him as their Chicago plastic surgeon.
